Here’s a pic from one of the scenes in Shawn Finn’s EarthCorps Adventures: The Weather Tower Plot. In this scene, Shawn, who is assigned to the lowly Fightin’ Beige unit, lounges around while his buddies Toby and Nano are hard at work.

One hundred years in the future, young car thief Shawn Finn is the scourge of New York. He steals cool cars and leads the NYPD on wild car chases through the five boros. After finally getting caught (by crashing into a whoopee cushion factory), Shawn is sentenced by a judgebot to a life in EarthCorps, a serviceorganization that helps less fortunate planets in far-off galaxies.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s been over a year since my last blog post. But hey, I’ve been motoring through my latest project, the aforementioned space adventure for the 7-10 year-old readership segment. Alex has been hustling on illustrations and I’ve been working on final edits.

Adam’s Back with a Brand New Invention!

No he did not! Adam did not just quote from Vanilla Ice!!! Well, he did but he has no shame. Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve added anything to this fine blog. (It’s not you, it’s me…okay, it’s mainly you, but I joke.) But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working.

My next project is scheduled for release sometime in the early fall. (I’m not giving you a date. I did that with Coaching Ira and learned my lesson!) It’s a space adventure for early middle grade readers. I have teamed up with illustrator Alex Lee on the first book in this proposed series. Initially, this book will be available on Amazon.com and as an e-book for Kindles, iPads and Sony Readers.

Happy Fathers Day

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Fathers Day. Hopefully you have a father or father figure in your life to share the day with or are one yourself. My day consisted of taking my daughter Peri to see “Up” (or at least one hour of it till she had had enough) and driving my family and parents up to Westchester in the rain to see my brothers’ family. I’ve been told on more than one occasion that Father’s Day is a good time to reflect on those male heroes in our life, and while driving up to Scarsdale in the rain is hardly heroic, I kind of like the concept of taking one day out of the year to elevate the status of fatherhood. Hero Status, yes. But how ’bout SUPERHERO STATUS!!!! (echo, echo, echo)

My old high school production teacher turned me on to this online superhero maker website www.cpbintegrated.com/theherofactory. I designed an incarnation for myself (believe me, this is the closest guy to myself I could come up with, minus the chiseled biceps and Louvre-statue abs) and showed it to my daughter. She said, “That’s great, Daddy, now make one of me!!!” Anyway, I like the suite I’m wearing and the length of my hair, but I’m still deciding on my super power. I know! Adding more hours to the day!
